Cermosem is a training and research center of the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), attached to the Institute of Urban Planning and Alpine Geography and the PACTE research laboratory. It opened its doors in 1994 as part of a partnership between the Ardèche Departmental Council, the EPLEFPA of Aubenas (Ministry of Agriculture), the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the rectorate of the Grenoble Academy and the university. Cermosem develops activities in strong adequacy with the characteristics and demands of the South Rhône-Alpes territories.

The campu's activities are organized around three main functions: training, research and scientific initiatives.

Cermosem is a research and training platform focused on territorial development. It is located in a rural Ardèche, in the Ardèche, on the Olivier de Serres agricultural estate in Le Pradel in the municipality of Mirabel.

Every year, Cermosem welcomes and trains new students from all walks of life in land use planning and territorial development. The main themes are territorial dynamics, tourism, recreational activities, the environment and heritage management.

Many conferences and seminars are organized on the campus. It is a place for debate and collaboration between researchers and actors in territorial development.
