Internships abroad

An internship abroad may be optional or mandatory at IUGA, depending on your academic program.

Some tips to help you prepare for your internship abroad :

  • identify the country(ies) where you would like to conduct your internship
  • indentify the type of host organization (research laboratory, design office, nonprofit organization, etc.) and the field you would like to work in based on your professional plans
  • contact a professor-researcher oryour program's "internship abroad" coordinator to help you identify possible contacts (other teachers, researchers, potential host organization, etc.)

The next steps are the same as the procedure for beginning an internship in France (with an internship pre-convention and then internship convention). The convention can be written in English (by choosing the language option in the PStage portal).

Financial support :

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region can offer financial support to students who wish to conduct their internship abroad: €95 per week for the minimum internship length stipulated in their programs’ academic regulations. As this funding is considered to be supplementary assistance only, it is important to have a provisional budget for your stay abroad.

Steps to apply for financial support:
  • enter the required information online on the funding application platform
  • print the file and bring it to Nadia Lachkar 1 month before the beginning of the internship

Attention : these scholarships can only be granted for internships that are considered mandatory according to the program's academic regulations.
